SAN ANTONIO (August 22, 2016) - Massage Heights, a leader of professional, affordable and convenient therapeutic massage and facial services, announced today that it signed a franchise development agreement to open its first location in New Jersey as part of the brand's aggressive expansion plans for the Northeast. The new retreat is slated to open in Morristown this fall at 40 West Park Place and will be owned and operated by 11:11 LLC, comprised of local entrepreneur David Shawger and his business partner, Dale Carmody.

"We are thrilled to welcome David and Dale to our growing Massage Heights family," said Shane Evans, co-founder and president of Massage Heights. "As we continue to solidify our brand's presence nationwide, it becomes important for us to align ourselves with franchise partners who share our same passion for the balance and well-being of the lives that we touch. David and Dale both embody what it is to be a Massage Heights franchisee. Together, they bring a combined 40 years of experience to our team and we're excited to see how they will leverage their expertise to deliver a fantastic experience for the residents of Morristown."

Shawger brings over two decades of experience to Massage Heights and has an extensive background in consulting and leadership information technology. Similarly, Carmody brings a wealth of deep-rooted sales, business administration and product management acumen from his background in the pharmaceutical and healthcare arenas. Following the development of their first retreat in Morristown, the pair plans to open two additional locations in New Jersey to further expand the brand's presence in the Northeast.

"The power and capabilities of joining a franchise like Massage Heights far exceeds starting a business from the ground up," said Shawger. "For quite some time, Dale and I have been in search of a business venture with a brand that is committed to high-quality customer service and we are thrilled to have found that with Massage Heights. Over the past decade, Morristown has experienced tremendous growth with a significant population increase, which makes this the perfect location for New Jersey's first retreat. We are confident that Morristown residents will love what Massage Heights has to offer and are anticipating only more developments over the next several years."

As part of its aggressive growth strategy, Massage Heights is seeking qualified franchisees and area developers to join the brand. Single- and multi-unit development opportunities are available nationwide in cities like Denver, Kansas City, Tampa-St. Petersburg, San Diego, Nashville, Knoxville and Las Vegas in 2016. Additionally, Massage Heights is seeking area developers to grow the brand in Sacramento, Los Angeles, Northern Virginia, Nashville, Tampa-St. Petersburg and Salt Lake City.

Prospective single- and multi-unit franchisees should have $175,000 in liquid assets and minimum $400,000 net worth per location, as well as experience in sales or retail management and managing hourly wage employees. Prospective area representatives should have $375,000 in liquid assets and minimum $600,000 net worth, as well as previous experience in franchising, sales, marketing and operating multiple sites, preferably in the retail, restaurant, hospitality or customer services industries.
